We are the Cannon family. We were all born and raised in Texas, and about 7 years ago God called our family to serve Him full time in the mission field. After having served in Austria with the International Mission Board, we returned to Tyler, Texas for a few years, and worked in sales, while Michelle was at home with the kids. All of this time we were waiting for God to reveal to us further direction for our lives. It was during this time that Michelle and I started traveling to Central America on short term mission trips.
In 2006, God opened the door to a ministry for our family in Costa Rica.
After the first year of language school, the plan is for us to move to a city in the South-west. Here we will help with training and teaching the local pastors. We hope to be a part of a pastor training center, which will be an education program set up specifically for the evangelical pastors of Costa Rica.
We will also partner with our home church, Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, and InStep International out of Atlanta, Georgia, and other partner churches and organizations. We will help serve as on site strategic coordinators for teams coming to work on short term mission trips.
We are constantly catching ourselves putting God in the box we have created for him and have to remind ourselves that He is so much bigger. We look forward to seeing the Mighty work He is going to do here with the people of Costa Rica.
